Muguet day

ミュゲの日
May 1st is celebrated in France as Fête du Muguet". The custom dates back to the Middle Ages, and has been recorded as a day to celebrate the arrival of spring since 1561, when Charles IV sent lilies of the valley to the ladies of his court. It is said that good luck will come to the person who receives it.
The lily of the valley that I received from my mother's garden has started to increase little by little, and this year, the fragrant number has bloomed in the garden. Lily of the valley is one of my favorite perfumes, so I stick my nose to the flower bed this time of year.

And the shape is really cute too.
Higuchi One of Yumiko's embroidery motifs is an eye pillow with lily of the valley. The night was bright and the children were having a hard time sleeping, so I suddenly thought of trying embroidery in the morning.
This is "Tight Risou". The plump flowers in the shape of a heart are adorable, and I thought they would be perfect companions for Muguet Day, which is an image of happiness and love.
I hope you have a wonderful May. (K)
